Newcastle are the latest club to show interest in signing young centre-back Abdugomir Kusanov from Ligue 1 side Lens. Although they are known to have competition from Tottenham, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

The 20-year-old Uzbekistan international has blossomed in his second year at Stade Bolar-Delelis under the tutelage of head coach Will Still. According to reports from the Telegraph Football Newcastle UFABET 

The 6ft 1in player has made 11 league appearances, starting nine of them, missing just two due to suspension. 

The strengths of the 18-match Uzbekistan team are strength, good aerial skills, difficult one-on-one duels. Ability to pass short passes or build up from the back, and plenty of potential to develop further. 

His preferred position is right center back, but he also has the option of being a #6 midfielder. 

The contract runs until June 2027 and the price tag is estimated at €20m (£16.6m ). But if there is a fight between the big four clubs, the price could double.  

Lens looked to garner funds in the summer but struggled to do so. Both Kevin Danso and Neil El Aynaoui looked set to garner high fees. With deals agreed with AS Roma (for the former) and AS Monaco (for the latter). However, both failed their respective medicals and ultimately remained with Les Sang et Or. Subsequently, both have seen their market value decrease.
